Maha Shashthi – According to mythology, on this day Maa Durga descended to with her children i.e. Saraswati, Lakshmi, Ganesha and Kartika. On the morning of the 6th day, the goddess was awakened. And when Bodhan is over, the evening ceremony of invitation and residence.

Maha Saptami- Bathing of navapatrika in Ganga or any other water body before sunrise on that day. On Saptami day 8 more leaves are tied together with the banana tree. After bathing a new saree is put on. Mahasaptami puja begins after bathing Durga on stage.

Maha Ashtami (Maha Ashtami) – The greatness of Ashtami is different at once. Devotees worship Goddess Durga on this day. Apart from offering Anjali on this day, Kumari Puja is held in various places. And ‘Sandhi Puja’ starts at the junction of Ashtami and Navami Tithi.

Maha Navami (Maha Navami) – Maha Aarti of Goddess takes place on this day. Sacrifice is practiced at various places in Mahanavami. Gourds, chalkumro, sugarcane are sacrificed instead of goats. After Sandhi Puja, 108 lamps are lit.

Bijaya Dasami (Bijaya Dasami) – Last day of Durgotsavam. On this day Goddess Durga is greeted by wearing vermilion, smiling sweetly, and inviting her for the next year.

মহাষষ্ঠী(Maha Shashthi)- পৌরাণিক মতে এই দিনে মা দুর্গা তাঁর সন্তান অর্থাৎ সরস্বতী, লক্ষ্মী, গণেশ এবং কার্তিককে নিয়ে মর্তে অবতরণ করেন। ষষ্ঠীর দিন সকালে দেবীর বোধন। এবং বোধন শেষ হলে, সন্ধ্যায় আমন্ত্রণ ও অধিবাসের অনুষ্ঠান।

মহাসপ্তমী (Maha Saptami)- ওই দিন সূর্য ওঠার আগে গঙ্গায় বা অন্য কোনো জলাশয়ে নবপত্রিকা স্নান করানো। সপ্তমীর দিন কলা গাছের সঙ্গে আরও ৮টি পাতা একসঙ্গে বেঁধে দেওয়া হয়। স্নানের পর একটি নতুন শাড়ি পরানো হয়। স্নানের পর দুর্গা মঞ্চে প্রতিস্থাপন করে শুরু হয় মহাসপ্তমীর পুজো।

মহাঅষ্টমী (Maha Ashtami)- অষ্টমীর মাহাত্ম্য একবারে অন্যরকম হয়। এই দিন দেবী দুর্গার আরাধনায় মেতে উঠে ভক্তরা। এই দিন অঞ্জলি দেওয়ার পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন জায়গায় কুমারী পুজোর চল রয়েছে। এবং অষ্টমী ও নবমী তিথির সন্ধিক্ষণে হয় শুরু হয় ‘সন্ধি পুজো’।

মহানবমী (Maha Navami)- এই দিন দেবির মহা আরতি চলে। মহানবমীতে বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বলি প্রথার প্রচলন আছে। ছাগের পরিবর্তে লাউ, চালকুমরো, আখ দিয়ে বলি দেওয়া হয়। সন্ধি পুজোর পর ১০৮টি প্রদীপ জ্বালানো হয়।

বিজয়া দশমী (Bijaya Dasami)- দুর্গোৎসবের শেষ দিন। এই দিন দেবী দুর্গাকে বরন করে সিঁদূর পরিয়ে, মিষ্টি মুখ করিয়ে, পরের বছরের জন্য আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়ে বিদায় জানানো হয়।
